It was time to start her up. I cranked the engine with the cold start knob out for about 15 seconds. Got out and looked under the hood to see if there was any kind of leak. Cranked again for about 5 seconds and it started. The oil pressure gauge went out and everything seemed to look and sound good. Went and looked under the hood again and lo and behold engine oil was shooting out from between the filter and the flange! Mobil 1 15W-50 oil was all over the driveway. I shut her down quickly.

Thinking that the filter was too loose I turned it with a strap wrench. Took a trip to Wally World and bought Shell Rotella. Topped off the oil and started her up again. The oil was still shooting out. This time I loosened the filter and found that the rubber filter seal had squeezed out from over tightening. I then re-installed the filter, hand tight only.

Started her up again and all looked good!!!

Took her out for a spin and heard the L/H front wheel bearing groaning. Back to the driveway she went.
